MDDA-RI provides a safe, confidential environment for people who live with mood and other disorders to come together and share encouragement, coping strategies and support.
There is no charge for attending our meetings. Butler Hospital has generously donated space in the Ray Conference Center, on the second floor, for our weekly meetings.
Groups are facilitated by teams of trained support group facilitators who are non-professional peers. MDDA-RI is very much a self-help style support group.
We believe that recovery is real.
Whether you have been newly diagnosed, or have years of accumulated experience at living with mental illness, you are welcome to join us. We always recommend attending at least 3-4 meetings before deciding if MDDA-RI is right for you: each meeting is a different experience.
You do not need to call in advance in order to attend. There is no cost to you. Our members are people who keep coming back to our Groups.
We do not divide the group by diagnosis. Family members and friends are welcome.
